The Butterfly Stool by Sori Yanagi, (1915 - 2011) an iconic figure in Japanese industrial design. Originally created in 1954 using the moulded plywood technique that had been newly created by the Eameses. Composed of two identical curved pieces of wood, with brass fittings, often seen as butterfly wings, of which it gets its name.
"True beauty is not made. It is born naturally". Yanagi did many paper models of this stool, as opposed to only working on the drawing board.
