This is the large edition and an iconic piece by Roger Capron, one of the greatest post war French Ceramicists. This image of the sun began to be seen early in Capron's career as symbolic of the sun of the south of France. It became more seen during the 1960's in this colorful ceramic image on coffee tables composed of several elements of tiles in various configurations. His abstract images were influent by the artists working in the south of France, especially Picasso. The frame of the table is unique and a different from the other frames used on his tables and makes it a few inches higher than his other tables. Most likely a custom order.
