Roger Capron French 1970's Ceramic Tile Coffee Table impressed tiles

Roger Capron French ceramic tile coffee table with beautiful impressed patterns in the tile. This unusual table is composed of tiles that each exhibit the strong influence of the fire in the kiln and vary in colors of almost white and warm light browns and tan.

The tiles have a central motif of warm toned square tiles and then additional individual tiles that form the frame or border that are impressed with patterns that remind one of Moroccan tile motifs. A true architectural and complicated arrangement. The variation in color would work well in any decor. The grout is a dark warm grey finely applied. Created in his studio in Vallauris circa 1960-1970.

Sitting on round wood legs. Excellent condition. Signed R Capron. A minimalist Capron table.

As Pavilion speicalizes in the work of artists and designers of France and Italy we love this table for its vibrant and happy quality celebrating the life of the south of France.
