Les 2 Potiers Michelle et Jacques Serre Ceramic Side Table

Important piece unique ceramic side table or small coffee table by Les 2 Potiers France, circa 1956. The table has a green blue glazed ceramic tiles with the iconic unusual textured glaze surface of 2 Potiers and with white wonderful geometric hieroglyphic drawings. On a black lacquered metal iron frame. Each tile is approximately 6.5" x 6.5". This table is a piece unique.

Ceramic signed by the French ceramicists 2 potiers (Deux Potiers) Michelle et Jacques Serre with their signature seal symbol as shown in the literature as follows on page 227.

Michelle Bargoin-Serre (b. 1936) and Jacques Serre (1934-2016), met at the School of Fine Arts in Clermont-Ferrand. They worked together from. 1956-1970 then separated and continued working individually. The couple, Jacques Serre and Michelle Bargoin, met in 1952. Jacques enrolled at the Clermont-Ferrand School of Fine Arts that same year, and Michelle at the Bourges School of Fine Arts in 1953, where she notably studied under the ceramist Jean Lerat, who introduced her to pottery.
