Two French Guillerme et Chambron or Guillerme and Chambron lounge chairs model Jose in natural oak for Votre Maison.
This pair of the model Jose lounge chairs have a very sculptural back not seen on other Chambron chairs and also have an interesting carved pierced motif. They have a beautiful patina. We have cleaned and waxed the wood leaving its beautiful patina which can be seen on the arms.
These highly sculptural chairs feature a more upright sit but still very lounge feeling. They could easily occupy a space in an office setting or more formal living space.
Newly reupholstered and new cushions as is our normal procedure in textured Italian cream boucle. The all new foam cushions are 4 inches thick.
The company, Votre Maison, has marked the history of French design. Guillerme et Chambron were acquainted for the first time in 1940 in a prisoners camp in Oriental Prussia. Prisoners, they become friends, after the first post-war years they parted. A graduate of the Boule school in 1934, Robert Guillerme works at the the Rogier workshops, a big company in the Lille area. Jacques Chambron, a graduate of the Applied Arts School in Reims, has his own painting and decoration workshop in Paris. In 1948, Chambron and his family leave Paris to settle in Lille.
Both men meet again together with Emile Darioseq, owner of a cabinetwork workshop looking for new company Votre Maison where they design together. Size:31.5" W x 29" D x 35" H. Seat height 16.5" Arm height is 22".
