ITALIAN DESIGNER ETTORE SOTTSASS WHITE AND BLACK ROUND MARBLE DINING TABLE loto rosso FOR POLOTRONOVA

This very rare dining table Loto Rosso is designed by Ettore Sottsass for Poltronova in Italy in 1965. The round top and the thick round foot are made of high quality Carrara marble. The cylindrical base is made of black lacquered metal. This model is no longer produced, rare to find and a collector’s item for the Sottsass fan. It is a great example of postmodern design. This table is in very good vintage condition.

Ettore Sottsass (1917–2007) was an Italian architect and designer, best known for founding the Memphis Group in the 1980s, which had a profound impact on postmodern design. Sottsass had a long and diverse career, and his work spanned various disciplines, including architecture, industrial design, and ceramics. In the early 1980s, Sottsass founded the Memphis Group, a design collective that brought together young designers and artists. The group's designs were characterized by bold colors, geometric shapes, and a rejection of the minimalism of the preceding decades..
