Charlotte Perriand Cansado Bench in MAHOGANY Wood
Bench designed by Charlotte Perriand, France, circa 1950. Mahogany wood, lacquered metal frame and legs. Signs of age, patina, and the traces of use enhance the character of this piece. Here we see the principle of the Japanese wabi-sabi, which refers to embracing imperfections and underlining impermanence.
Provenance: Cansado, Mauritania (Africa). In original condition, with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina.
